Hello! My name is Thamar, founder of Thaamsz.

​My love for clothing and textiles started at a young age, which eventually led me to study fashion design.

During fashion school, I interned at a fast fashion company.It quickly made me realise that this was not the side of the fashion industry I wanted to be part of. I became very curious about slower and more thoughtful ways of making clothing, not only designing the final piece, but also understanding where the fabric comes from, how it is made and getting to know the people behind it. After graduating, I followed my heart to India.

During my travels through India, I completely fell in love with its rich textile traditions and the incredible craftsmanship I encountered along the way.

 

Thaamsz grew naturally from that love. Today, I work together with artisans and small-scale makers in India to create clothing using techniques such as block printing, hand embroidery and handloom weaving. Natural materials, traditional craftsmanship and personal relationships with the people I work with are at the heart of the brand.
