Each piece tells a story of tradition and craftsmanship, and is a tribute to the incredible hospitality and generosity of the Indian people who welcomed me into their homes and their lives

Following my graduation from fashion design school, I travelled to India numerous times, where I stayed with artisans and craftsmen to fully immerse myself in the remarkable textile handcrafts of this country.

First few days in India 🌺 So grateful to do what I love most, and to be back in India, the magical country where all the pieces are crafted, the fabrics are created, and where the story of THAAMSZ began ✨

I’m so happy to share my love for India and its textile crafts with you.

I often share about block printing, but another favourite of mine is handwoven organic cotton.
Woven on traditional looms, using hand-spun yarn on spinning wheels, made from organic cotton.

I love the uneven textures, the earthy tones, the feeling of something truly made by hand ✨

You can find a wide selection of handwoven fabrics in store, along with many pieces crafted from these beautiful textiles ⭐️

Moroccan mood 🌞Wandering cats, sun-kissed walls, golden light and lots of shooting✨

The Emerald Whisper 💙 Decorated with delicate hand-embroidered details, this piece has been in the making for quite some time. From choosing the colours to perfecting the shape and finishing the embroidery, a lot of care went into every step.

So happy to share that the Emerald Whisper is now available in store, and will be available online soon.

During my last trip to Morocco, I joined @christinegialamatzi & @khalid_jardani while they were treasure hunting for their new store in Tamraght @studio.artizana 🤩
Visiting local pottery artisans together, I couldn’t resist bringing a few pieces back with me.

A small collection of handcrafted Moroccan ceramics is now available in the store @ Oudegracht 310

The Kali Durga Dabu Blouse ❤️ Block printed using the traditional Dabu technique where mud is used to print, to resist the fabric from dyeing on certain areas. Finished with antique hand embroidered cuffs and cute shelves buttons ✨ Als available in ochre & indigo in store!

Did you know that a block printed fabric often is created with many different wooden blocks?

One pattern is not made with just a single block , but layer by layer. Often 4 to 7 blocks are used, and sometimes even up to 9, to build the final multicoloured design. Each colour, each detail, has its own block and is printed by hand, one by one.

During my travels in India, I always try to join workshops and spend time in the studios to keep learning more about this beautiful, ancient craft.
Seeing the rhythm, the patience and the precision of the printers never stops amazing me. 🤩

To give you a better understanding of the process, I made a little scroll showing the different prints and layers, so you can see how the design slowly comes to life.

A beautiful maxi dress crafted from hand block-printed fabric in 100% natural thick cotton, dyed in deep indigo and printed with a floral motifs. A delicately stitched upper part, block-printed borders, puffed sleeves with extra long elastic cuffs and two hidden pockets.

A little late… but 2025 needed a recap ✨ So many beautiful moments for Thaamsz!

Slide 2–3 | January Started the year in Jaipur 🇮🇳 Days spent in block print studios, learning, wandering, absorbing. Loved seeing how floral blocks are inspired by Amber Fort’s architecture.

Slide 4 | February Working on the summer collection and ended the month in Goa, capturing it all. 🌴☀️

Slide 5 | March Back at Lapjesmarkt Utrecht With new treasures from my travels 🤍

Slide 6 | April A slightly crazy idea: opening a pop-up store. Wrote a letter, got a YES in 2 days & Two weeks to prepare: lots of painting & Marktplaats hunting.

Slide 8 | May Sewing workshops together with @naaistudio84 🧵 And yes, we’d love to continue. But first: renovating the basement, Hopefully workshops return in spring/summer!

Crafted from locally grown, organic Kala cotton, hand-spun, handwoven and naturally dyed.
Decorated with tiny hand-embroidered mirrors and finished with handpicked vintage embroidered cuffs.

Available in three colours: off-white, black and ochre.

What we mean when we say ethically handcrafted 🙌🏼
Here’s a little glimpse of how our fabrics are printed, traditionally by hand, using hand-engraved wooden blocks, dipped, stamped, repeated many times to create a pattern. And… this video shows only one part of the fabric’s journey, because before the printing begins, the cloth has already gone through many hands and different stages too.

After printing and drying under the sun, the fabric continues its journey into the dye bath.

Celebrating the artisans in India who continue to breathe life into this ancient textile craft✨

Store ReOpening ✨Saturday, November 29th
De nieuwe collectie hangt in de winkel én we zijn officieel geen pop-up meer maar een vaste winkel! De winkel is helemaal vernieuwd en het voelt als een totaal andere plek. Dus als je nog eens wilde langskomen… zaterdag is dé dag!

We serveren gratis Indiase chai en onze favoriete buur @bakkerijkameel Kameel geeft de allerlekkerste gratis kaneelbollen weg (bij besteding vanaf €35 in onze winkel)
Ook is Jenneke van @karel.en.co aanwezig met hun fantastische ethische knuffels van prachtige handgeweven Ikat stoffen.

29 november valt in het Black Friday-weekend, maar als klein merk doen wij daar bewust niet aan mee. In plaats daarvan vieren we juist de kleine ondernemers die onze stad zo gezellig maken.

En je kunt het ook goed combineren met een ochtendje Lapjesmarkt, want daar is Mara die dag aanwezig met de mooiste handgemaakte stoffen! De markt is op loopafstand van de winkel door het mooie oude centrum (en je kunt onderweg ook nog de bloemenmarkt meepakken!)
